Ways to do reflections in water in digital watercolour painting![]() Two sets of reflections are already done in this painting in progress. The vertical grasses layer was done using the Gel Wash/Wet Blender technique described in previous posts. Then the opacity of it was reduced on the Layers Palette using the slider.
The bird 1 Reflection layer was done with a digital wc brush (any tiny one will do), then opacity was reduced. The white parts were done with a dry wc eraser with a low setting because the water was on a wc layer (gel).
The bird and the water were done with digital watercolours and watercolours on separate layers. I cloned the image at that point to avoid having to drop the layers yet. In the new Cloned image I lifted the canvas to watercolour layer from the Layers menu.
The reflections layers were done on new layers with the default composite method on, as described above.
