Watercolour of Two Eggplants done with Digital Watercolours
One of my favourite colours is purple, so experimenting with deep purples and blues in this painting was an exciting challenge. There is a lot of light shining on them and it was tricky to try and keep the shiny surface of the skin from looking too grainy, but still reflect the light. I used the digital watercolours mostly in this one and have discovered that the pointed digital watercolour eraser set really low (about 2 %) with a little diffusion gives a nice softened diffuse edge in places. I also used my custom Diffuse blender and a Fine tip and Simple water brush for the rest. Found a couple of eggplant recipes to try as well!
