The Purple Challenge- a digital painting of two eggplantsOne of my favourite colours is purple, so experimenting with deep purples and blues in this painting was an exciting challenge. There is a lot of light shining on them and it was tricky to try and keep the shiny surface of the skin from looking too grainy, but still reflect the light. I used the digital watercolours mostly in this one and have discovered that the pointed digital watercolour eraser set really low (about 2 %) with a little diffusion gives a nice softened diffuse edge in places. I also used my custom Diffuse blender and a Fine tip and Simple water brush for the rest. Found a couple of eggplant recipes to try as well!
