My first posted digital watercolour done with Corel Painter 11

Walk to the Point - my first posted digital watercolour done with Corel Painter 11 (I upgraded from 9.5). I am having an absolute blast experimenting with the new program. I thought I would miss my old custom brushes (I haven't figured out how to move them into the new libraries yet), but I have too many other new ones to try. There was a bunch of freebies on the CD and I did manage to download them. The funny thing is, a lot of them were like ones I've customized and named on my own using 9.5.

I also got a new Wacom tablet as my old one has a very worn part in the critical area. I really like the Intuos 4 brush. It is supposed to be more pressure sensitive and responsive. I loaded the black with white tip nib, as it's supposed to be more like a real brush feel. The brushes work faster and the result is a much more natural feel to the flow of things. I've been dying to splash some paint around and just couldn't get 'things' loose enough and was feeling very disatisfied with the progress of my art as a consequence.

Painter 11 has given me new and better tools and it doesn't suprise me that they are the ones I was looking for as a digital artist. It's also given me the impetus to experiment with all the brushes and try to use them in new ways.

All the things like impetus and excitement, and ahahs! didn't come in the box though, I had to supply them on my own. But, isn't it nice when you buy something that does all you expected and more!!

Your latest landscapes look very natural. I see them looking much like traditional watercolours.
I like rich textures, muted colours and loosely drawn shapes in 'Walk to the Point' and soft curtain-like misty glazes in 'Spring Trees in the Sun'. Lovely works!
