How Will I Survive My Computer Dying?I am not very good at hardware technical details...in fact a lot of technology leaves me bewildered. The fact is that my computer just won't start and has had overheating and memory issues for sometime. (It's a wonder I can paint digitally because you need a certain level of technological skill to function in the program.) I didn't take courses my first few years painting (because I could not afford them), but I highly recommend that you take some sort of basic introduction course when you are starting out. It will save you hours of frustrating work. You can find great, affordable courses at Digital Art Academy. I am using borrowed older laptop and of course don't have my Wacom set up or Corel Painter 12 on this computer. I will probably survive a few days without it! I noticed that the colours in my paintings in the galleries look awful on this monitor. The greens specifically look very dull and grey. I especially miss all the saved one click connections to my favourite sites and forums. I don't mean the social media ones either, I can easily give them a miss for a few days (oops did I say that out loud?) Fortunately my more technically capable husband will help me purchase a new CPU soon and I'll be up and rolling with all my stuff soon. I do try to learn and do things on my own, but it is tempting to ask somebody who you think might know to save yourself some trouble and time. If they can point you in the right direction at least...that helps! The funny thing is before my computer died I was kind of wishing for more time to do the other things that life is made up of. It's really not my computer's fault that some spring cleaning is overdo, that I need to get outside more, see other people more...Too much gets wasted at my computer. I have much to do art -wise, but I will have to be more ruthless with time wasting activities, and with keeping my new computer more organized. (I am a computer pack-rat!) Onwards and upwards ...
