How to Paint Bowls in a Still Life Study Using Digital Watercolours

Barbara Fox Study of 'Peaches and Cream' continued. Here is a link to the other two parts.
Part One How To Paint a Peach with Digital Watercolours
Part Three How to Paint the Jug in a Digital Watercolour Study

I started the bowls and  it looks easy , but it is so hard to do the edges and get the pool and the wobblies in the bowl edge in the right place. I find it hard to do this on the Wacom, it's kind of slippery and I don't have the control I need there. I only feel that when doing fine lines. Probably means I need more practice. You can't use the draw straight lines functions because the line ever so gently curves.

Possible solution: Maybe if I made an oval shape and followed the outline of it (on a new layer) my hand would be steadier? I'll try that and let you know, meanwhile here are the bowls so far...

Finished the bowls. I will blog about the brushes used for bowls and jug next week. Am working on getting a brush to make a nice soft slightly grainy glaze.
Have a HappyThanksgiving and a great long weekend!

Hi Joan,

A suggestion on the slippery feeling of the stylus to the tablet. I have the medium Intuos 4, and I take a sheet of vellum Bristol and cut it to fit the active area of the tablet. Then I tape it at 2 corners with scotch tape. This adds some friction to the pen and has a bit of a tooth for feeling like pencil on paper. And there is no effect that I can see on the levels of pressure.
