  • In this screen shot you can see where I have used Skip's Soft Wash to add some grain bristly green to the leaves. Any number of the Painter default wc brushes would work as well. There is no 'one way' to do this. I am showing you some of them, and hopefully it will show you that it's easy to figure out how to make your mark!

  •  I decided the greeny blue background looked kind of harsh, so I warmed it up by uisng gold digital watercolour on top of it. Brush controls visible in menu bar.

  • I chose to clone my document rather than drop layers again. (just in case I need to back in there-the multilayered one) I am now working on the cloned document which is one layer on the canvas. The digital and the watercolour layers are now dry as well.
  • I am doing the final adjustments to leaves etc when I realize the top left leaves make no sense and are very distracting besides...so I used the Flat Grainy Stump to pull colour from the canvas to go over this area of leaves to cover them up. Used with 'a little jitter' (which is exactly what it sounds like...as if you had really jittery/shaky hands and the pencil point was skipping around a teensy bit!) to change the textural look a bit.

  • I used Just Add Water from the Blender brushes and some Blending Bristle from the Tinting Brushes to blend the greens.

Wonderful painting Joan...I'm a big fan!!! The use of the glow brush on the background was brilliant.

I am enjoying your blog very much.

Thanks very much Skip. That Glow brush tip works well on really dark areas.
