A personal glimpse into why I painted "Think Green" a digital watercolour

My nephew Andy got married to a lovely girl named Mady in Rumania last February. It may take up to two years for her to be allowed to immigrate to Canada. Their love will have to be very endurable and strong to survive such a separation.  I had this very much in mind as I planned what to paint to go along with this message. No way I could just send the words, the painting had to symbolize or represent our wishes in some way. Andy's mother, my sister Marie is an avid gardener; she even starts growing little seedlings in her basement in early, early spring. I knew she would get the symbolism of Andy and Mady's marriage and love as a new growing plant.

There you have it the reason behind Think Green! I also have an ulterior motive in wanting to get a little environmental message across at the same time!

"This painting of new green growth shining out of the darkness symbolizes in many ways the wishes we have for you as you celebrate your marriage.

Although we can’t be with you, our hearts are very glad for you, and we are there in spirit on your happiest of days.

We wish you a long lifetime of happiness as your love for each other grows. May your love always be fresh, new, and wonderful. May your marriage be as strong, green and beautiful as a newly sprouted plant?  Be each others light in the darkness.

Mady we happily welcome you into our big family, and thank you Andy, for bringing her into our lives. Even though we don’t know you yet, if Andy loves you, you must be special!  We look forward to meeting you and giving you our Best Wishes and Congratulations in person.

Until then, we wish you all the best things in your life together. We cherish you both now.

PS (Just had a lovely email from Andy who just got back from a 10 day trip to Rumania and says if all goes well Mady may be here (at least temporarily) by the end of the summer! Isn't that great! Keep your fingers crossed and pray too!)

Mady was my deskmate during high school and a very good friend of mine. When I met Andy in person I knew that he's her soul mate...something inside me was telling me that. Even a blind man could see how much they love eachother and how happy they are when they're together. They seem to me coming out of a fairy tale...a prince found his princess and they lived happily ever after.

Thank you Crina for visiting my site and telling me more about Mady and Andy from your point of view. It's a small world when we can connect this way! I'm very happy for them and know it will all work out beautifully for them in time.
