Digitally painted watercolour based on a painting by watercolourist Barbara Simmons, whose work I have long admired. Painted from my own orchid references using her colour palette and trying to incorporate the 'visual language' of watercolour into my digital watercolour. It was a very good learning experience for me. I used lots of different techniques to get a similar look in my painting.
This painting is obviously not for sale, because even though my painting is not the same, I borrowed heavily from Barbara's to see if I could make similar brushstrokes digitally.
